If you would like to find out all about what to do in the area a visit to the Nenagh Tourist Office is a must!  It is situated right in the heart of the town at Banba Square.

Here you will meet really friendly staff with a wealth of knowledge.

 

Go eBiking! (and Kayaking)

John Hanley Woollen Mills

The John Hanley Woollen Mills is a 10 minute drive from Shannonvale Cottage and is a working local woollen mills.  It has a beautiful gift shop offering locally made blankets, clothing and other Irish gifts. And the river crossing next to the Mills is very beautiful too.

Explore by Foot

There are a number of great hiking options to be enjoyed during your stay. For example, the Lough Derg Way is a 64km walking route from Limerick to Dromineer, and it goes right past Shannonvale Cottage. The walk ranges from gentle paths through farmland to the big climb over the top of Tountinna, and features many of the best views between Dromineer and Killaloe.

Relax with a sauna

There are two saunas operating in the area. 

Lakeside Sauna has two mobile saunas and parks up at various spots around the lake shore, including Dromineer. The brave can enjoy a dip in the lake before unwinding in the woodfired sauna. Or you can skip the ‘bracing’ dip and just relax! More information can be found at: Lakeside Sauna
